Viva Italiana Dining Set

Viva Italiana Cheese Pepperoni Pizza

Viva Italian is a restaurant set up by my good friend Anthony Ho with his few business partners at Mosque Street in 2015. Because we know each other for years, I decided to go there as one of his customers to try out his pasta, pizza, appetizers and desserts on the same day. Something I don't usually do and may not do it again. And his chefs – including an Italian waitress who served me – certainly did not disappoint. […]

Pastamania Marinara Fusili

Marinara Fusili

This is my all-time favorite Western and Italian dish. As well as one that I will gladly sacrifice other dishes for. I first got to know Pastamania in the now defunct Food Picnic in Scotts Shopping Centre and started eating there regularly. After it closed down, I have been moving around Singapore to various outlets at Bishan Junction 8, Funan Centre, Plaza Singapura, Bugis Junction, Bukit Batok West Mall and now finally settled at JEM Shopping mall in my hometown […]

Kenny Rogers Roasters Quarter Chicken

Kenny Rogers Roasters Quarter Chicken

Kenny Rogers has been another restaurant I have been visiting since 1999 and my favorite dish is quarter chicken. Initially I went to the outlet at Great World City while working for AIA as insurance agent. After leaving the company to start my own business, I have wondered about to various outlets at Marina Square, Suntec City and Tampines Along with the quarter chicken, I tend to choose corn nibblets, baked beans and mashed potato (not pictured here). Along with […]

Jack’s Place Mixed Grill

Jack's Place Mixed Grill

One of my all-time favorite Western food. Complemented with the air-conditioned and conducive carpeted floor and seatings, it makes a perfect dining place for families, friends, couples and even individuals. What I like about Mixed Grill is that it has a whole variety of chicken, beef, mutton, pork in small slices, egg, baked potatoes and vegetables served on 1 hot plate. In the past, they used to serve in hot grilling plates. Now it is just normal plate but the […]

Hans Chicken Chop

Hans Chicken Chop

If I am on limited budget but still want Western food, Hans Chicken Chop is the one I usually go for. At first glance, it seems like a simple dish. But to me, it is a complete wholesome meal as having chicken, carrots and French fries are enough for me. Not to mention the garlic bread and mushroom soup as well when ordered in a set. They used to include dessert usually water or winter melon in it but now […]

Astons Chargrilled Chicken Set

Astons Chargrilled Chicken Set

I first came across this outlet stall in my Jurong East Central coffeeshop and my first order is chargrilled chicken set. But since the opening of the 3 super shopping malls in 2013, that outlet closed down and moved in as a bigger and improved restaurant in one of them called J-Cube. Besides the grilled chicken, I tend to go for French fries or mashed potato and BBQ beans. While they also served corn, it only comes in a traditional […]

Fill-A-Pita

Fill-A-Pita

Fill-A-Pita is another fast and casual dining cafe serving great Middle-Eastern food in Singapore. Situated at 3 Shenton Way, it closed in 10 September 2015 and will be opening their new outlet in another location soon. However its difference as compared to the first two I just mentioned is that it served only vegetarian and halal food. As in sandwiches made from pita bread and filled with salad and dips. There are also no eggs or unions in any of […]

Deli Turk

Dell Turk Pasta

Set in the suburban streets among shophouses, this is unique restaurant with several artpieces decorating the walls for a complete Turkish atmosphere and culture. Besides the settings, I also liked the menu with several photographs of what they served. Their main attraction is Deli Turk’s signature kunefe priced at $14.90. It is regarded as their trademark dessert that appeals to most customers. Including me since I ordered and tasted it. Other dishes include oven-baked shredded pasta sandwiching unsalted cheese, topped […]

Overdoughs

Overdoughs

The last time I was at Middle Road was way back in 2006 when working for Times Teleperformance call centre at 101 Building. Having heard of this unique cafe serving Middle-Eastern snacks in local food variety show, I decided to give it a try. And it did not disappoint me. The green rolls that you see on this plate reminded me of another type of Chinese snack filled with coconut. So are the rest like Cashew Baklavas, Dark Chocolate and […]
